what a lovely day in 🇧🇪 ☀️ 🐦 🎶
laptop on the picnic table, greeted by a bumblebee and a hornet (EU one).
Yeah it's a wonderful day! Took a long lunch and walk around Brussels and really enjoying absorbing those sunrays ☀️
🇳🇴 weather is funny today! 🌨️ 🌧️ Snow in the morning, now weat snow, borderline rain. Got a little ski trip anyway, I fear rain might make it this year's last, in southern Norway. We'll see!
What's the English word for that? Sleet? ("sludd" in Norwegian)
Seems like it's also simply called “rain and snow mixed” in some places. A descriptive name, at least! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rain_and_snow_mixed
Need an english word for "sludd"!
We should consult the sami people who have 300 words for snow 😊 https://www.nrk.no/sapmi/reineierne-bruker-300-ord-for-sno-1.7997295 (article in norwegian)
Isn't slud just called "slush" In English?
"sludd" is normally when the wet stuff is in the air, I think slush is on the ground? But I dunno, I'm no native English speaker!
I see. We use "slud" in Danish for the stuff on the ground and it's the same meaning as "slush" In English.
I call the stuff on the ground "sørpe". Found it on https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/slaps, it translates back to English "slush". Today I learned indeed!
I use both sørpe and slush (sløsj) in Norwegian: Sørpe is the nasty stuff in the street that's annoying to trudge through. Slush is a wet snow pack that's fun to ski down, often covering the mountain side in springtime.
Snow on the borderline to rain is Schneeregen in German but IMHO it would be better to call it Schneegen. That would save two letters.
or call it Schneen and save another two!
Schn!

I saw them live last December in Amsterdam, very cool.
I’ve seen them live twice and they’ve been excellent both times despite the settings being wildly different.
I saw them in '92 as well with The Mix tour. that was great as well.
good morning
