good morning
Morning β
I am doing lots of doomscrolling these days
same same
@simongray sounds like you want to escape it?
Not really
In any case, how's the synth playing going? π Having fun composing or sound designing or?
I think most people are.... When it's getting you down, go geekscrolling here on Clojurians instead π
@simongray what synths are you playing? I've currently added the MiniFreak to my setup, sounds awesome. Also got the Expressive E Osmose, that thing has been just fantastic.. π
@yannvahalewyn A small, portable one to go with my small, portable sampler: Roland S-1 and a Teenage Engineering EP-133. I also got a small, portable mini-amp for my guitar. Basically, the whole setup is designed to be loaded onto a bike and run off batteries so that I can go somewhere far away from my nosy kids. Damn, the osmose is the one with that interesting keyboard mechanic? Sounds expensive!
I donβt really play enough to justify big expensive kit, but I must admit that I am very interested in the Solar 42. That thing just sounds incredible.
ooh, more synth-heads! Hopefully you are not experiencing the tragedy of having a collection of dust-collectors but no time to make good use of them... laughcry
osmose is interesting, although i don't have (by far) the skills to play that thing
> Basically, the whole setup is designed to be loaded onto a bike and run off batteries so that I can go somewhere far away from my nosy kids.Basically, the whole setup is designed to be loaded onto a bike and run off Haha that's awesome π > Damn, the osmose is the one with that interesting keyboard mechanic? Yeah, as a guitar player feels incredible and is super expressive
Here's the setup
That looks very nice. How's the minilab? I was considering getting that or a keystep.
The Minilab is a beast, everything is well laid out to mess around with sounds via actual knobs. It also sounds amazing. if you can stretch the budget I'd definitely recommend it.
what style of music do you make/play?
I came from rock and poppunk, muse, radiohead, coldplay stuff is very dear to me. Now I'm making some kind of modern pop with some rock and synthwave and bunch of influences
How about you?
at the moment not much to report, I have this idea of making an ambient album some day, think BoC, Flashbulb, Kettel, Bola. "Listening music" rather than dance music, but all electronic.
Ooh I love BoC and Flashbulb
By which i don't pretend i'm capable of anything of that quality ;-)
A long professional break would help
We do our best
I'm actually taking a professional break for 3 months, do some open source stuff and work on an EP / Album
damn, making me jealous
Dude I've been dreaming of this for years now haha, had stuff to care of first π
enjoy every goddamn minute of it!
Thanks I am ^^
You too send something over if you have a demo or something
some very old stuff
Damn this is a vibe! π
Listening to this I definitely think you should get a MiniFreak π
I enjoyed those

Morning!
Beautiful day today in Brussels βοΈ . I'm chilling and taking some time working on some open source tools I've made. What's everyone else up to?
Juggling a few projects, helping to diagnose a AWS DMS replication failure (out of disk space), testing out websockets for a new websocket clojure service, listening to Faithless No Roots Album, setting up a few grafana panels to monitor said websocket service, updating my little herd of machines using ansible and listening to the heavy rain outside.
beauty
Fixing some papercuts on a web app I made a few years back as it will be used in teaching this semester.
Good Hamnet morning
