We have wild boar, mostly in the woods though

This is remarkably close to the city, first time I've spotted them

Maybe they came from Sonian forest

I heard in Berlin they terrorized some neighbourhoods. I went camping in Berlin once and they visited the fence at which our tent stood and make lots of noise at night

Wow… I had no idea that they are about in Belgium! My brother and his family live in Wallonie, near to Huy… I wonder if he knows..?

I seem to remember him being interested in the cat from a dietary perspective, but I barely remember anything specific if I am entirely honest - I remember watching the show…

pff, the conversations in the 'hood whatsapp group... "filthy animals" etc. WTF is this sickness of the mind thinking that you "own" your garden vis-a-vis a wild animal.

We saw some in Rome (not in the countryside, in the city) not too long ago

Woah, I did not know that they are / were so widespread around Europe… When I was a kid I had a schoolfriend whose Dad was a keen hunter and I remember him going to Corsica specifically to go boar hunting, but I had no idea that they were more spread around…

It's kind of weird here in France. Many areas have too many wild boars. It might be getting better now that wolves are making a comeback, I'm not sure. The subject can get political in a hurry: hunters (an influential minority group with controversial views) spend half the time insisting that they are indispensable to keeping the boars population under control, and the other half feeding them corn so that they have boars to shoot.

wolves are a hot political topic in the Netherlands
