morning
Morning all. September has been like a gatling gun shooting 🦠 🦠 🦠 in my general direction, wtf.
time to upgrade your going out clothes to a NBC suit?
My office clothes you mean.
yeah, I'm gonna skip going to the office for a while, too many germs flying around in poorly ventilated areas.
September was a marathon of sickness in our household, too. A siege.
children are there to improve your immune system
That's not how immune systems work
I've been going to Berlin a lot for work over the last few months - I've got ill every time. I've developed quite the lemsip habit ... I hope you feel better soon.
September has been pretty rough around here too: both Jay & I got COVID (for only the 2nd time) early in the month, our deck contractor's kids all got sick, one of his workers got sick (like, not even being able to get out of bed sick), good friend has had a hacking cough for weeks (but does not have COVID!). Seems to be a germ-infested month all around the world 😞
Nurglings share their gifts with everyone
Nurglings, that's the description of my offspring I was looking for. Wait hold on, does that make me a Great Unclean One? think_beret
morning
Next week I'm giving a Clojure Conj test presentation at the Dutch Clojure Meetup which is the first live Dutch Clojure meetup since covid! I've got my opening and closing slide ready. Now the rest...
I'm working on the talks for the Macroexpand conferences, using Clay with Quarto and revealjs.
What do you use for your slides?
Ah yes, the tech for presentations is way more important than the content. Let me write my own slide framework in babashka first.
(I'm just using keynote not to be distracted by any of that)
Of course it's not. But at least it is an aspect in the process of creating the talk.
Normally I do the content for presentation as markdown in a simple text editor to not be distracted from layout issues in the first place. Only if the content is OK, I use a presentation tool.
that's clever. I did write out the structure of my talk in a text editor with notes

Good luck on your presentation! Any plans on recording it? Maybe that doesn't make sense if it's in dutch 🙂
Maybe we should have another bb conf. I was thinking the day before ClojureDays :)
@teodorlu You could do a bbslideshow presentation. 😄
A part of me wants to — but unfortunately it currently has very bad (zero) support for showing images 😅
ASCII art, maybe?
maybe! Or something browser driven, http-kit runs on babashka and you can do nice stuff with html and javascript.
And scittle or squint ;-)
This is the current draft of the QClojure intro presentation: https://github.com/lsolbach/qclojure/blob/main/notebooks/qclojure_intro.clj. The cool thing it's a Clojure namespace. The markdown comments are the slide text and the code is shown in code blocks. The result of the code is rendered as code or visualizations depending on the kind metadata.
morning!
