Moin!
Good morning to everyone living here in Europe and to Europeans around the world šŖšŗ
Godmorgen šµšŖšŗ
good morning!
mogge
good morning
Good morning everyday to everyone everywhere
I feel seen
it certainly is very inclusive!
Thats one of taking care of all future obligations to post greetings to this channel. Or any channel whatsoever
is it an async promise?
of an infinite sequence
maybe both?
We might never know
I will ask this question neveryday to neveryone neverywhere
is it still a question in that case?
š¼š¼ š¼š¼ š¼š¼ š š¼š¼ š¼š¼ š¼š¼
what's that?
Angelspinangels? Angel Spinangels? Sounds good, but what does it mean?
We can only conclude that Ray is mysterious and wise. Perhaps an oracle.
How many angels can you fit on the tip of a pin?
Iām suggesting six ⦠but maybe you can fit more
If Ray makes a sound in the woods but nobody hears him, is he really Ray?
If Ray makes a joke in his comedy talk at a Clojure conference but nobody laughs, ā¦
That never happens though. Just a philosophical question š
But what if it is not Ray, but a ray instead?
Or an array of Rays on the head of a pin.
Luckily we have our Ray of light
Rumour has it that the Ray of Darkness sports a goatee. Do watch out for him.
The goat - yeah, I see that
well, you are the GOAT, We all know that š
Good morning
morning to all those who observe UGT
for those of you who didn't know about UGT (possibly until you said "Good Afternoon" or "Hi" for the first time). Did you feel welcomed with love and acceptance or did it seems like a clubby exclusive thing that might have put you off?
Jan Molby approves of UGT.
I think it's nice š We have a dedicated "Good morning" channel at work, which is also nice. I work exclusively from home, so I appreciate any watercoolerish stuff I can get, which is actually mostly here š People at work are too busy working and talking face to face for OT chatting.
Anyone familiar with Troy from the greeters guild? Pretty funny.
@reefersleep Yeah, now we've had a "reduction in force" at work -- almost a year ago, in fact -- it's gotten very quiet at work and we no longer have the "good morning chatter" š
RIP
Even if work is "just work", it gets emotional at times. I was saddened recently when the on-going cljs->typescript migration moved onto a set of popups that I've worked on a lot.
At least we have no plans to migrate away from our beloved Clojure š
Our devotion is immutable
Same here for the CLJ part. So I'm still grateful for my job š
I know of at least 1 person who doesn't like all the greetings, regardless UGT or not. Too much noise in their opinion. and thus has decided not to join the channel.
I can sort of get that. I know one person who doesn't like the OT chat here either and avoids this channel b/c of that. But there are lots of topic based channels on here where that isn't an issue. Was it just the signal to noise ratio for them?
yes I think it was. and this channel has lots of noise TBH (but then again, I don't mind that). and I rather ask my clojure questions here than in #clojure. I do ask my Rama questions in #rama of course, as that is where all the Rama freaks are hanging out.
I wonder if it depends on how long you've been online? I first got online in the early '90s when it first really appeared and got popular... So it has always seemed normal and fun and friendly... But I'm old.
I think it's nice.
I remember loving the UGT thing when this channel showed it to me. Iām also old, and have been online since 1200/80 modems was a thing, but I had missed it. I also love the noise!
it was surprising to me, but not bad
I am just here for the noise š
I find the UGT thing fun. The channel itself has always been very welcoming. I found it during early COVID and it was such a cozy little community in a community. This my water cooler chat, as @raymcdermott recently called it, so I quite enjoy all the noise.
I don't have the equivalent greetings or watercooler channel in the work slack group so I appreciate that this exists here! Even though I rarely contribute I have a sense of inclusion in this club āļø
