Good morning!
Got a decent workout frequency going again, feels awesome. My kid is getting heavier, stronger and crazier, and I'm getting older and more frail 👴 So I need to reinforce my core muscles.

I'll try, for fun. Starting... now!

There's no point in doing more than one minute in plank. Other than showing off.
I could never develop a workout routine on my own -- it's why I ended up finding (and paying) a personal trainer. Expensive, but routines all tailored to your needs and your body, and someone to spot you, and time/count things. And the appointment in the calendar means I actually go and do a serious workout with cardio before and stretching after.

I recall others at crossfit being much more opposed to the plank than I was. Now I think I'm probably doing it a bit wrong?
I'd love a personal trainer for all the reasons you mention, @U04V70XH6, or to go back to regular crossfit sessions with a team of randoms a couple of times a week. No time for it, though! So I'm really happy to have my dumbbells.
During the pandemic, we set up a home gym: elliptical, free weights, yoga ball, some foam pads for balance training, yoga mats... and when there was nothing else to do, we actually did workout at home... but that stuff isn't getting used anywhere near as much as it was... Mind you, I just installed new blinds all along that side of the house so it won't get as hot in the afternoon so... maybe... I'll have fewer excuses to avoid some afternoon exercises? (no more "it's too hot!")
My personal trainer was genuinely surprised when she was on vacation for two weeks that I actually did three workout sessions on my own at home...
To me, it's a question of habit. I try to work out every or every other day, to keep up the streak. When I was about to work out today, something in me was reluctant, but I tried just "not thinking" and just starting on autopilot, and it worked.
Working out with others is great, even a set of randoms. Even better when you're with someone. I do miss that. And the board games and coffees afterwards 😇
