Broughty Ferry in Dundee

I'm trying to think if this is the closest castle to me or not (there is Claypotts Castle and and old hill sans hill fort near by too)

Ah, not a part of Scotland I've visited (yet)...

Sunny and no midges, but no mountains

When I've ventured North of Edinburgh, I've generally either gone across to the A82 (for Loch Ness) or the A9 (returning from Inverness). I must do that loop out through Elgin, Aberdeen, and Dundee some time...

(I go up the B862/852 to avoid the main road up the Loch -- it's beautiful and you can park and walk along the shore easily! And almost no traffic!)

I thought it could be Edinburgh or nearby - wrong shoreline guess, the one further north :)

We have the advantage of facing south as well, so we get more sun
