Moien
morning all
Morning
I left my alarm (phone) in my office rather than by my bed and didn't get up until 9:30
Good morning
More security shenanigans. Now I can't access Teams (not that I want to) without installing Intune. But I fear that if I do, I have no control over which apps I can install onto my Mac anymore. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/what-is-intune
I have stopped using my company laptop for anything remotely related to personal stuff.
I stll have the ability to install apps (my user has admin rights), but that could go at any time (not that they've said it will - but it could!)
Like I wrote about in another thread, at my previous workplace, you'd have to wait weeks, months to get permission to install things. That was dreadful
agreed. for a computer programmer who probably has to install a whole range of tooling (at any time) it's a very bad experience.
The usually just apply default-everyone-is-a-computer-noob-so-dont-give-anyone-any-permission-for-anything policies.
Yeah 😞
(reminds me of a time that I worked for a (now defunct) bank in the UK - I had to get a form signed by 3 people to gain access outside of the company firewall for websites - couldn't even access stack overflow! or any google links tht a search result returned)
I get that. I hope this won't force me out of my current job. Even with all of the current bureaucracy, I quite like it
The saddest thing was that when they installed Intune (and the company policies), it replaced my nice soothing wallpaper with the default company one - which is grey with a huge red logo on it.
I can imagine. Way to kill any joy and creative spirit.
