morning

Just went to get a breakfast roll at the university café. After paying, the girl behind the desk says “have a nice day” all the while looking down her phone and at EXACT the same time as I say the same thing to her. Then when I turn to leave she gets all offended and says “you’re supposed to say ‘have a nice day’ back, you know :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:” and I just look at her and say “…. but that’s what I did! :man-shrugging: ” So now it’s going to be awkward buying any breakfast there whenever she’s got a morning shift…

Everybody can have a bad day, but that is definitely not a great way to start the day. I hope your day gets better and that it doesn’t become as awkward as you fear.

Last year we had an absolute graveyard in the nest. The birds made their nest in our letterbox, which turned out to be way too much in the afternoon sun. I think it got too hot inside, only a few made it. This year we placed the birds-nest in the shade, and taped up the letterbox so they couldn't accidentally repeat the mistake.
