Good Morning!

schmalz08:04:02

Morning friends. This was Sundayā€¦. at ā€œhomeā€, which isnā€™t really home anymore. So I felt like a complete tourist.

Lovely photo Jase - where is it though?

jasonbell10:04:04

York šŸ™‚

maleghast10:04:52

Ah, yes... Now you say it I can see it... I was wracking my brain for which great church that was, and I was just not able to get there without a bit of help šŸ™‚

maleghast10:04:14

Are you still there or have you returned to NI?

jasonbell10:04:26

Iā€™m back home home in NI.

jasonbell10:04:36

Was only a flying visit to see my mum.

maleghast10:04:12

I haven't been to York in 30-odd years, but it's a lovely place šŸ™‚

jasonbell10:04:04

Itā€™s nice for 48 hours but I find thatā€™s my limit now, so busy. Cities arenā€™t my idea of fun really.

I get that - I like to be able to get out of the city as much as I like to be able to get in šŸ˜‰

otfrom12:04:27

Looks like a ramshackle place to be. I bet the roofs don't line up, it was falling down, and they ran out of money. I hear it took ages to build as well. They kept changing the architecture too

@U0525KG62 Still the largest ongoing repair job ever. Itā€™s never going to get handed back is it šŸ˜‰

otfrom12:04:29

And it has that shed on the side. St Michael le belfry

otfrom12:04:13

And it melts if you leave it in the (acid) rain

jasonbell12:04:39

ā€œThat shedā€, lol. Remember it well. I felt more at home at the ā€œother cathedral over Lendal bridge.

jasonbell12:04:17

This oneā€¦.

otfrom12:04:11

that is a proper cathedral

otfrom12:04:49

a true connection of heaven (Scotland) and border of hell (London)

jasonbell12:04:38

I got to the station at 3:30pm so I could hang out there for a bit. I love it there. But I was a nerdy train spotter in my youth.

simongray12:04:06

I recognised that instantly! Been there quite a few times. The English side of my family hails from Grimsby-Cleethorpes, so weā€™ve often taken a daytrip to (either Lincoln or) York during Easter visits.

Iā€™ve also visited the viking museum once šŸ˜›

jasonbell13:04:00

More boring photos from St Andrews again in a 10 days time šŸ™‚ Another flying visit. Toppings better stock up .

Ludger Solbach21:04:44

apropos vikings, the station looks like a viking ship turned around. šŸ˜‰

Momo12:04:49

amazing
