What did you work with?
I've been digitizing tables of section properties for steel beams. Somewhat specific 😂 An IPE300 is 300 mm tall. Engineers need to calculate beam capacity for bending moments. For this, they use a number they call W_y (wy in the graphs). They also need to calculate deflection, how much the beam "moves down" in the middle. Stiffness against deflection is calculated using I_y (iy in the graphs). IPE and HEA beams are somewhat different, IPEs are thinner and taller for the same area. The graphs let me know whether any numbers are "off".
