Morning all.

reefersleep10:04:02

Good morning. I expect I'll be less active here when we move onto Teams as our primary (only?) chat app at work 😞 after next week.

I mean, of course I could keep more than one chat app open at a time, but I've already got too many apps to juggle.

javahippie10:04:07

I‘m really sorry to hear that you will have to use MS Teams

i didn't try it myself but the element offers bridging service to ms teams. https://element.io/blog/ems-launches-bridging-for-microsoft-teams/

reefersleep12:04:15

Interesting 🙂

seancorfield13:04:46

Sounds like you'd need to run Element and have it bridge both to Slack and to Teams, so you would have to convince two sets of Admins to let you bridge with Element, in addition to running Element...

grav08:04:48

I can recommend just running Slack in the browser.

grav08:04:09

I have Slack in "pinned" tabs in both FF and Chrome which auto-boots when I start the browser.

seancorfield14:04:44

Yeah, even though we use Slack at work and I have the app open for that workspace, I still use a browser for Clojurians Slack - and I also have Discord and several other chat/community sites open in tabs, even when there are apps for them.

reefersleep10:04:58

It's been nice to be able to just click my way into here from my work Slack Workspace and back.

imre10:04:48

I feel you man, I'll be in the same boat in some time. cmd-number switching has been extremely convenient

imre10:04:21

oh noooo

Does any one know what’s needed to resurrect this repo? https://github.com/taraktikos/cucumber-clojure

My son's enjoying the weather - it's hard to keep him indoors! Wish we lived out in the country already so that he could just wander off at will, but sadly, there's too many driving cars and other uncertainties just around our current house. Hope the rest of you are enjoying whatever weather you have as much as him 😄

mccraigmccraig16:04:54

@reefersleep do i recall correctly that the motivation for your company's move to teams was a security issue with slack ? what was that issue ?

otfrom20:04:52

I'd like to know too if that is the case

reefersleep10:04:34

Two concerns: 1. It wasn't possible to formally approve usage of Slack in regards to handling "data about people". This is very vague, I know. 2. It wasn't possible to ensure that the data was stored in a European country. I work in the public sector, I should add.

@reefersleep is that a data protection or a data sovereignty issue?
