Good Morning

Jakob Durstberger08:07:06

Good morning and happy Friday

robert-stuttaford08:07:34

happy Friday! we're off to Legoland in Denmark next week, yay

maleghast08:07:49

The Mothership, how awesome! Hope you have a great time 🙂

dharrigan09:07:49

We've been to Legoland Windsor a few times with the kid

dharrigan09:07:53

He loves it!

dharrigan09:07:59

I quite like it too 🙂

maleghast09:07:21

I have never been, but I want to.

gklijs10:07:22

I went to the one on Denmark once alone. Not that much to enjoy then, would love to go back with kid(s) sometime.

robert-stuttaford11:07:56

gotta figure out how to not leave with all the lego in the shop, haha

gklijs11:07:20

Yes, still have to find a way to make the 'perfect' amount of Lego purchases. The Atari and Optimus Prime look tempting.. But also about to buy a new house, that's a good thing to hold me back for now.

robert-stuttaford11:07:37

will the house, and this is important, will the house have the Lego room

maleghast11:07:07

I really want the NES and the Atari sets

gklijs11:07:46

Not sure yet, looks like my new room will be quite larger then my current office/Lego room.

robert-stuttaford11:07:59

omg they look fab @U08ABGP70

i saw this one in the London lego store a few years back https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/millennium-falcon-75192

maleghast11:07:48

Oh Hell Yeah, I would love that one - the highest piece count Lego set ever produced.

maleghast11:07:55

I won't be building it for a while yet (long story) but I am going to really have fun doing it when I do.

robert-stuttaford11:07:06

that looks rad

gklijs11:07:18

My previous employer bought one to put together, it's gigantic. But muck like the AT-AT, titanic, Colosseum, it's hard to give them a nice place.

robert-stuttaford11:07:19

honestly a bit scared of walking into that shop lol

robert-stuttaford11:07:33

yeah, that's my issue - where to put the damn thing

robert-stuttaford11:07:45

and for whatever reason, where i live is HELLA dusty

robert-stuttaford11:07:47

so that'd be shit

gklijs11:07:42

You can hire them here, but I've been told it's cheaper to instead buy, build and sell it. It's not loosing that much value just putting together.

robert-stuttaford11:07:45

you can rent lego?! 💥

robert-stuttaford12:07:29

this is very cool. i'm going to enjoy this!

My last build was the new bat mobile, https://www.lego.com/nl-nl/product/the-batman-batmobile-42127 not as much fun as the 1989 one, but close enough. Not really sure about the light bricks through. In month it's my birthday, getting the Tumbler.

gklijs17:07:57

Thanks, but no need, as I have both. Some of the moc's are nice through. But not so much for the Volvo truck, considering selling it or giving away. Also since I mostly wanted it for building it, as it has automatic transmission.

Daniel Craig17:07:13

The yellow volvo hauler?

Daniel Craig17:07:27

Oh rad, I'm way into Lego Technic so it's fun to talk about this stuff. I don't have that one (or any Control+ sets)

Daniel Craig17:07:37

My collection is somewhat older, I like the brick-based technic a lot

gklijs17:07:24

It's nice to see it come together, bit then it's pretty mich over. My parents often sell stuf, and give the profit to charity. So considering giving it to them to sell. I'll also have place to put the tumbler then 😉.

gklijs17:07:45

I have some stuff from about 35 to 25 years old, still at my parents house.

gklijs17:07:07

Never had a set that used pneumatics through. They also have some programmable stuff, but never not sure I would like that.

Daniel Craig17:07:27

The pneumatics are fun but I'm kind of a novice in that area... If I understood the principles of that sort of thing better I think I would really like it.

Daniel Craig17:07:28

The programmable Mindstorms are cool but it's a pain in the butt to get the older ones talking to the computer these days... that's where I'm currently at

gklijs17:07:32

Yes, that's also a worry with the Control+ sets eventually. Would be nice if it used a generic programming language you could just put on an SD card or something. Than again at some point it will become incompatible probably.

borkdude08:07:35

Good morning

maleghast08:07:14

Madainn mhath!

genRaiy11:07:15

Good morning, let's make hay

pez12:07:47

A few days ago I happened to observe when they wrap those in plastic, making those huge marshmallows (my kids call them that). An insane amount of plastic is used. They probably need to be perfectly sealed,

genRaiy13:07:48

this is a perfect queue for me to start a vegan rant about how much food and other natural resources are wasted on feeding animals .... but I'll resist 😬

In Norway they’re called ufo-eggs when wrapped in plastic

I don't mind plastic. It’s a fantastic material. It was just surprising to watch the wrapping and it seemed to never end. Layer upon layer, upon layer.
