Good Morning!

thomas08:02:27

Another rainy and very windy day....

synthomat09:02:30

good morning 🙃

otfrom09:02:00

possibly some wind later today from Franklin

otfrom09:02:08

I think it is mostly south of us.

mpenet09:02:28

It's very windy in southern sweden as well this morning. Some trees got knocked down around here

simongray09:02:24

Yeah, same in Copenhagen

javahippie09:02:57

Morning! Windy in southern Germany, but not too bad. Nuisances like “Picking up plants that got pushed over” or “better not go running in the woods today”. Colleagues in Hamburg tell a different story

otfrom09:02:33

we've just been having storm after storm and they've really messed things up in Scotland. Soooo many trees have blown over: https://photos.app.goo.gl/aSxiWKVWoVqaXA8w6

the last row is a reference to the movie and in particular this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR7l__Florc

Mno11:02:05

It would've probably been easier just to make this table in an actual db and print it out

Mno11:02:20

or map it and use pp/print-table

borkdude11:02:33

pp/print-table

Mno11:02:48

ah yes, that one

gklijs15:02:07

Just had a bit of sun, so went for a walk. Several trees were blown over.

dharrigan15:02:36

Did it make a sound?

otfrom15:02:17

I hope you weren't there to hear it

practicalli-johnny16:02:21

I don't have any pictures of fallen trees, been in bed most of the weekend with Covid symptoms 🤒

otfrom16:02:20

ugh, is that a re-infection or long covid?

otfrom16:02:27

and I'm sending, very, very distant hugs

practicalli-johnny16:02:36

Your hugs are always welcome (one of the reasons I kept coming back to to the Clojure dojo in the early days)

❤️ 1
practicalli-johnny16:02:17

I am thinking of moving to Scotland, so hugs might not be so distant 😁

otfrom16:02:35

whereabouts in Scotland? Up to help with independence? 😄

practicalli-johnny17:02:26

Yes, I'd be voting SNP and for Independence. The government in Scotland feels the most effective and fair of all 4 counties in the UK.

apols for bringing politics into the channel 🙂

otfrom17:02:23

happy to talk Indy and SNP stuff in DMs

otfrom17:02:31

I still want to know where you are thinking of going to tho

practicalli-johnny17:02:57

Perth or Inverness would be great for cycling through the Cairngorms. So definitely want to investigate there.

practicalli-johnny17:02:12

I have enjoyed Edinburgh on my visits there (but that was about 9 years ago).

practicalli-johnny17:02:59

Glasgow seems to have some interesting cycle schemes and I think would be useful for the North Coast 500 ride (although wouldn't be doing that every weekend)

practicalli-johnny17:02:28

Haven't looked anywhere else yet. Somewhere reasonably quite, not too build up and with good support for (long distance) cycling.

otfrom17:02:51

Aviemore or Dunkeld might work if you are OK with a smaller place away from everyone

practicalli-johnny16:02:32

As far as I know there isn't a way to tell if it's reinfection or long Covid (since Jan 2021) unless I have specific blood tests. I've never had a positive self-test. After 3 Vaccine jabs, its more manageable than it user to be. I've been running a bit of a temperature for most of 2022 and the glands in my throat regularly swell and subside. But after a year I've just got used to working around the illness (mostly).

One of my cousins caught COVID early on (April 2020 I think) and they have had various persistent symptoms ever since -- and recently got diagnosed with an auto-immune disease that was caused by the initial COVID infection. Weird stuff. Hope you continue to improve!
