Good morning. Our last up the mountains this week.
I wonder if it's worth going on a winter break into the mountains if you're not into ski-ing/winter sports but just like to walk for example.
We often go for hikes on the mountains here in the Black Forest, there are a lot of well maintained winter-hiking routes
Not in the city itself, but on the hills there is plenty. We have rented a flat ~30 minutes up the mountains from here for a week-long workation so we can hike and cross-ski before and after work
We always go as family. Some of us ski, some don't. Ski lifts are open to pedestrians, either two-way, or walk your way back on a snowshoe trail. It's less expansive for pedestrians. It's handy to just walk downhill, save time, or gather for lunch.
@U04V15CAJ why not ski though? I didn't learn until my forties.
I think if you learn properly and progress sensibly the chances of injury are low
I've fallen plenty but never hurt myself 🤞:skin-tone-3:
I just don't see why I would do this, just like ice skating. I've done it as a child, but I don't feel the inclination.
It's folks who try black runs on day 3 of learning that suffer
Anyway yes, of course, no pressure
Was just interested
My wife doesn't come along
You can ski walk which is very safe
Yes, me and the two boys
They are slightly better than me but we stay together and it's a joy to me
We're going again next month in France so I'll send more pictures.
One of our friends just moved there so it's very unusual for us to go twice
I've missed holidays :)
+ 1 for snowshoes if you are not into skiing. Cross-country ski stations often have decent amount of showshoe trails. Usually these places are less crowded than alpine skiing ones.
@raymcdermott where you at?
What he said
AT is the official shortening of Austria so the answer was in the question
Morning, further defecting from Clojure, as I decided to go with Rust for a static site generator.
Using one or writing one?
More like writing one. Reusing some html things I used with Clojure before, based on Bulma. For now still using the js the cljs put out. Taking small steps to make it all dynamic.
Two wrongs don't make a right 😂
