Morning
It's Friday, so I can go a little off topic, right? Today is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvx5KPM72Cg from https://www.groenalund.com â an ABBA-esque band. The video was partly shot in our office and I have a short cameo appearance. đ So I can add one more check mark to the to-do list of my life: â Appear in a music video
Good morning :)
And to go off topic as well.. I realised I'm OCD about updating the Apps on my phone. Sometimes I check several times a day and update the Apps from the Play store. My wife and son only start the Play store App when they want to install something, certainly not to do silly things like updating Apps.
I donât know how serious the suggestion was, @otfrom, but after having considered that maybe it wasnât a joke, I immediately think it is a great idea. Sharing this out in the channel again: How about we change this channel name to #clojure-ugt, peeps?
I think that #clojure-europe is more inclusive to newcomers, as âeuropeâ is a thing they can understand and relate to. Thatâs the reason why I joined, the #clojure-germany channel is almost dead, and this was the next geographic boundary. Would not have known what #clojure-ugt is and not have joined
True, true. Iâm coming at it more from the total community contribution. This channel is very nice and it would be super nice to share the niceness with more of the world. We could make #clojure-ugt a default channel, so that newcomers are automatically included. And we could of course create a new #clojure-europe channel because that has itâs uses as well.
in someways this is a "hallway track" channel. Having a #hallway-track channel where "morning" is a reasonable thing sounds like a good idea
having a smaller channel to ask silly questions in (which this has been before) seems to work too
I love this channel. I get good mornings from you all and get to feel I am in contact with the community from when I open the lid on my laptop to when I close it. I get to take part of small tidsbits from your lives. I can go quite a bit off-topic when asking for advice or second opinions. I get to know when you have experienced wins, and when you have added some little or big pieces in place for the clojure community. And I get your cheering-ons for when I have spent time and effort on some Clojure related things. There is no Europe dimension in it at all for me. I guess I donât really need that very often.
I think the "europe" angle is more about timezone, so when we (more or less) are awake and about
and it is smaller than the main #clojure channel where everyone saying "morning" would flood the channel
even 295 members all saying g'morn would probably be overwhelming... but the level it has settled at in this channel is really nice
I like the level of busyness of this channel, which I assume, in part, has to do with the geographic boundary. Also, I kind of like the Europe aspect of it! I feel a little closer to you all than I would in a global channel. Not in an elitist way, just a cozy way đ
Sounds like we shouldnât risk what the channel does for us now. But maybe consider creating some new channel that can give similar joy to more ClojuriansâŠ
