Good morning!

reefersleep10:09:36

I’m about to buy a Raspberry Pi 4 B 8 GB to act as a NAS, backup-to-cloud of said data, possibly a Pi-hole and possibly whatever other stuff I can come up with and that it can cope with.

reefersleep10:09:18

I’m late to the Pi stuff.

reefersleep10:09:24

Any advice, thoughts, anything? 🙂

@reefersleep if you buy a 64bit one you can run #babashka on it :)

@reefersleep I've no Pied yet either but have noticed a youtube channel that explores some interesting Pi applications including https://youtu.be/ahrdx3TYxZc

@UE21H2HHD thanks for the link! That video alone was enticing 🙂

Seems like an interesting mellow fellow there, eh? Definitely some tinkering involved! And that particular solution from the video - apparently due to chip shortage has been put on hold.

reefersleep07:09:23

Yeah, felt a little therapeutic to follow along 🙂

reefersleep07:09:30

And I saw about the chip shortage.

reefersleep07:09:18

idk if I’ll be happy about NAS’ing via a USB hub and external hard drives over something like in the video, but I guess I’ll have to try and see 🙂

Made this tonight and it was pretty good. I followed it a bit loosely so it makes a good base https://www.brandnewvegan.com/recipes/best-damn-instant-pot-vegan-chili

Looks delicious, but whenever my eyes read things like oz I become frustrated as I know I will have to do a bunch of conversions before I go out shopping just to make sure I get the right amount of everything. I actually recently bought a set of American measuring spoons and cups since I was frustrated with having to convert to ml all the time. The measuring spoons (which are mostly the identical in UK/EU/US cuisine having been standardised to ml) are fantastic to have lying around.

yeah, standard vs metric is a pain. As chilli is a USian thing I'm OK with that. I do have some standard sized measuring things around so it wasn't too tricky.

@otfrom That looks delicious. I love my instant pot. Made beans in it today as well.
