Good Morning!

Good morning!

reefersleep08:09:19

Good morning 🙂

reefersleep08:09:57

Don’t you just hate it when you somehow forgor to run the dish washer. Had to wash my kid’s “Play Tray” (his small attachable table for eating) by hand, and that thing’s huge and unwieldy. Related; is there such a thing as too big a kitchen sink?

thomas08:09:50

yup, most annoying if you forget to run the dishwasher. been there, done that.

reefersleep08:09:24

Automation can only help you so much!

reefersleep08:09:46

Eternally grateful that I have a dishwasher, though, especially since I had my boy 🙂

thomas10:09:18

Maybe use the Pipi longstokking way... just trow all the plates away once you are done with them?

reefersleep08:09:27

Anyone in here have experience with array languages? I’m pondering learning J, just to try something different.

reefersleep08:09:12

Seems like a small feat with such an extremely small syntax. (I’ve come to appreciate those after learning Clojure!)

Jakub Holý (HolyJak)09:09:04

No. Bud I would ask the data science Zulip

reefersleep10:09:28

I haven’t ventured onto Zulip yet. I feel like I have enough communication channels as is.

reefersleep10:09:29

I don’t have any questions per se, just wondering if anyone in here had anything to say about it 🙂

reefersleep10:09:37

How many communication channels have you guys got going? I’ve got Slack, mail, and then Teams for work. And that feels like more than enough at times. (Also got Facebook, Instagram and so on for spare time stuff)

reefersleep10:09:08

Ventured onto a Discord for a little while, but having trouble keeping tabs with that on top of everything else

dharrigan10:09:24

Slack, Email, Discord, WhatsApp (groan for the local school parents group), Signal, Discord and Line.

reefersleep11:09:37

Maybe you could collate some of it to mail upon @mentions or whatever, but for discovery, I guess you’re just a busy man

dharrigan12:09:33

I forgot IRC too.

djm10:09:29

I started moving discord channels to my irc client (with bitlbee-discord), but didn’t get very far, so now I have discord channels split across discord proper and irc, which is probably worse

otfrom12:09:11

hmm... move everything to bitlbee?

djm12:09:48

I like bitlbee - I use it for twitter, and for the jabber accounts that I don’t actually use anymore. I used to use it for some other things too.

otfrom14:09:06

re:bitlbee - isn't there way to run something like a "bouncer" as well so that you don't lose history? (finally a use for my raspberry pi?

djm14:09:08

I run my irc client (irssi) in a tmux session. You could use znc (or another bouncer), if you want to connect a graphical client to it

otfrom14:09:36

I'd probably be pointing one of the various emacs modes at it

pez15:09:13

I’m thinking that this extension could get pretty useful if I would expose some things about the file and project and such to the configuration. And also if I found a better way to decide which Replacer should be used. But for now this’ll have to do. It will probably not have many users anyway.
