Morning! Yesterday I started on a Github project template for Clojure Exercism. https://github.com/PEZ/clojure-exercism-template
Good morning. The whole family was sick the whole of last week, a first for us (since my son was born). Not looking forward to the next time. It wasn’t even that bad of a case of sickness, just some coughing/headache/body ache/dizzyness/tiredness, you know, cold-like - but it suuuuuuuucked
Taking care of a sick kid when you are sick yourself should be abolished
Been there, done that, @reefersleep! Worst time was when five out of six family members caught some bad stomach virus that had us vomiting and feeling like we were dying for a couple of days. In the middle of the summer! Only the then 2 yo son avoided it, as he has avoided all similar things (he seems immune to it). He felt very sorry for the rest of us, but also roamed around and had a good time.
damnnnnn that’s tough
I feel like shoring up the windows and staying inside forever now that I’m hearing all the horror stories
Maybe install a disinfection chamber
like an airlock
that’s what I used to think, but I now realize that it’s a lot of harrowing work to do so 😮
You need, as @U0ETXRFEW is saying, to build the immune system. In Norway that happens in the first year of kindergarten, or basically when your kid gets exposed to other kids. When that happens, he’s going to be sick a lot, you’re going to be sick a lot, so just plan accordingly.
@U04V5VAUN this is what I’m hearing about from a colleague with a slightly older kid. Just one disease after another.
Same thing for our neighbours, also slightly older kid.
“Just one disease after another” is just another way of saying “building an imunesystem”
@U0ETXRFEW yeah, they really aren’t too bright, are they? Good fun, though
@U04V5VAUN yeah! I geddit. I wish it could feel more like building.
Yeah, and hopefully it works out in that regard.
My kid seems to think that bumping his head into drawers and table legs has given him immunity to fall damage. He’s got no respect for tall ledges.
I am thankful for our mostly-outdoor kindergarten, both our kids had very little illness and I attribute it to being so much outside - which both strengthens the immune system, I think, and makes it harder for virus & co. transmission.
I hope this bodes well for my boy, @U0522TWDA, the place he’s going first (not kindergarten, it’s for younger children) has a lovely outside area, where they seem to spend a lot of time 🙂
@reefersleep Maybe…?
The most general symptoms match, but they match anything 🙂 Guess we’ll never know
nope, not in a state to go anywhere
Morning. I created an experimental re-usable Github action using nbb: https://github.com/borkdude/nbb-action-example
The actual action logic in CLJS is here: https://github.com/borkdude/nbb-action-example/blob/main/action.cljs Dependency injection for realz ;)
måning!
Yesterday was the day I finally succumbed and went out to buy an overpriced Xbox so that I can play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
That’s very specific, but if it’s your dream game, why not. Gotta live a little!
I bet there’s loads of other interesting games, though
