Morning @slipset , @borkdude and everyone else on the channel.

pez07:01:43

Goooood moooorning everybody! Asked a colleague about the ā€œused in angerā€ expression and he was sure it meant using something with frustration involved. But now he knows better. šŸ˜ƒ

jkxyz08:01:41

Good morning!

dharrigan08:01:41

Good Morning!

maleghast10:01:35

Morning Everyone šŸ™‚

genRaiy13:01:24

@slipset I tried your ancient thing for deps.edn and it didnā€™t report out of date Maven dependencies. Just to be sure, is that its job?

slipset13:01:49

I believe it is.

genRaiy13:01:03

I made an issue but just wanted to check here in case I had got it completely wrong

slipset13:01:07

It hands off all the heavy lifting to ancient-clj

borkdude13:01:21

@raymcdermott there's also depot and this thing gained some traction too in recent times: https://github.com/liquidz/antq

slipset13:01:40

I was going to mention that one.

slipset13:01:42

If that works for you then I might go ahead and archive deps-ancient

genRaiy13:01:00

I will do anything to avoid Erikā€™s code šŸ˜

slipset13:01:16

I think that is very sage, Ray

borkdude13:01:22

maybe transfer it to clj-commons? ;P

genRaiy13:01:24

the antq tool nails it ā€¦ thanks @borkdude

slipset13:01:48

nah, I donā€™t think it merrits anything but a slow and painful death.

genRaiy13:01:17

I was just thinking the same about you šŸ™‚

borkdude13:01:46

@raymcdermott may I remind you of the Clojure etiquette? wishing someone a slow and painful death is not a nice thing to say

genRaiy13:01:02

haha I think itā€™s on brand

slipset13:01:18

Coming from @raymcdermott I take it as a compliment.

genRaiy13:01:46

can I at least wish him a slow death?

borkdude13:01:59

let's ask the admins

slipset13:01:24

But, @borkdude, you deffo have a point, not everyone knows that @raymcdermott and I have history of bantering.

slipset13:01:00

Hmm, where is the difference in wishing someone a slow death and a long life?

genRaiy13:01:05

holy shit,

genRaiy13:01:18

ok, Iā€™m off

slipset13:01:40

I mean, life is slow death, is it not?

borkdude13:01:45

I'm wishing you a slow and painful day @raymcdermott :)

borkdude13:01:33

(this was weird, but I hope no damage was done)

genRaiy13:01:37

your wish is already coming true

genRaiy13:01:54

Iā€™m actually in the hospital at the moment

borkdude13:01:12

updating your deps in the hospital?

otfrom13:01:28

I hope our archbishop of banterbury gets well soon

genRaiy13:01:35

yes, why not ā€¦ got to sort out my affairs

otfrom13:01:50

and that people understand epic but silly bantz between friends

slipset13:01:04

clean underwear āœ… deps up to date āœ…

borkdude13:01:22

āœ… pull in latest breaking changes from maven

genRaiy13:01:35

currently checking for CVEs via nvd so this tool really helps

genRaiy14:01:50

has anyone used https://github.com/fsantiag/sonar-clojure yet? Kinda annoying that these tools keep on being lein only tbh so I might have to fork it

slipset14:01:14

that was kindā€™a my idea behind deps-ancient, as it was only available through lein-ancient.

slipset14:01:33

Which reminds me of Stuart Halloway being very insistent on writing libs which do a thing, like was, and then write some glue code to tie that into lein or deps or whatever.

slipset14:01:54

lein-nvd seems like a thin wrapper around https://github.com/jeremylong/DependencyCheck

slipset14:01:34

oh, and lein-nvd also works for deps.edn. TIL

genRaiy14:01:54

it says it does but it barfs for me ā€¦ READMEs arenā€™t the whole truth šŸ™‚

slipset14:01:11

file an issue and see if you can have that repo archived as well.

genRaiy14:01:57

I love the smell of burning repos in the morning

otfrom15:01:10

anyone have an idea of how many years 2021 has gone on for so far?

thomas15:01:04

about 15 I'd say

thomas15:01:29

for no apparent reason

otfrom16:01:19

between covid, brexit, US failed (1st?) coup attempts, and an inauguration it feels too busy

genRaiy20:01:49

are you living in the future? I thought the inauguration is tomorrow?
