mooooin
overcast conditions with occasional rain.
Goeiemorgen! Two "cooler" days in Belgium (low 20s) before we're hit with the first proper heat wave of the year
(The Belgian meteorological service defines a heat wave as 5 consecutive days over 25, of which 3 consecutive days over 30)
Yeah, not so looking forward to that, so I rejoice in my relatively bad ability to look forward.
I'm in my element in tropical weather so no complaints here, plus we're going camping in the ardennes. But this is the sixth year in a row with heat waves, which is the longest stretch ever... not a fan of the implications for the climate.
@raymcdermott looks like your dog is teaching you tree-search algorithms ;)
I so miss those European forests
@U06GS6P1N you are not in Europe anymore?
@U04V15CAJ no, living in Dominican Republic currently. Should be back by 2022.
@U1Z4D5SSV about to leave the continent?
Plants are way more resilient than Homo sapiens. We are just their tool to bring carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere.
It is true that according to IPCC predictions, on a business as usual pathway, most European forests will burn as the climate gets drier
At least in France it's the case
The thing is, the climate boundaries will migrate faster than most tree species can
Ha found the IPCC link: https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar5/wg2/summary-for-policymakers/wgii_ar5_figspm-5/
So yeah, as per this graphics, on RCP4.5 most of our current forests are f*cked
