morning, we will be WaH for the next two weeks (at least) and schools have been closed for 3 weeks.

otfrom09:03:25

schools still open here. Care homes shut to all but essential. One care home here has 6 cases

hkjels09:03:41

From an outsiders point of view, it doesn’t seem like the politicians in the UK understands the gravity of the situation

ordnungswidrig10:03:48

Death rate per what? Infected? Tested?

ordnungswidrig10:03:02

It’s a difficult thing.

ordnungswidrig10:03:22

Nobody knows the actual infection rate yet.

hkjels10:03:44

That may be, but it’s certainly not like a regular flu

thomas10:03:53

Maybe the Tories are trying to kill off their traditional support base? With BoJo you'd never know.

ordnungswidrig10:03:24

“not like a regular flu” that’s true!

helios12:03:14

in my opinion it fails to take into the account the human factor. It's easy to say that the 1% has to die.. when you're not the 1%

helios12:03:55

When the infection is going to spread, and people are going to die, it will be hard to think of those deaths as 'necessary' or 'the lesser evil'.. especially by the families affected

helios12:03:45

which is why i believe it will end up like italy. Either from a government imposition or just people's fear of the virus.

val_waeselynck17:03:31

FWIU the UK decided to go Darwinian on this pandemic

val_waeselynck17:03:25

It's worth noting these figures may vary wildly depending on the availability of respiratory equipment

agigao07:03:46

yup, way too general without context.

otfrom18:03:40

Not quite lock down in the UK but close
