I've just been denied when trying to join the clojure-dev Google group, any idea why that may be? There are some discussions I'd like to contribute to
I've signed it again, I don't think the first went though as didn't get an email like this time. Thanks
@gjnoonan: You did not get an email explaining the steps you need to follow to join the Clojure Dev group, and that your name must appear on the list of contributors before you can be approved to join the clojure-dev Google group?
@andy.fingerhut: no I didnt get one saying that, I just got one from google groups saying "Unfortunately, your request to join the Clojure Dev group was denied by a group moderator."
Wasn't me
I'll take a look when I finish lunch
I see your CA and accepted the request
@gjnoonan: I send out an email explaining how to join the Google group when I reject any request, and I think I am the one who accept/rejects most of the requests. Maybe my email went to your junk/spam folder.
@andy.fingerhut: m I will have a look
Thanks @alexmiller
afaik, Andy is the one that responds to most of these requests - I usually let them go by unless I'm in a conversation with someone about joining specifically.
there are currently too many manual steps in this process. I've written some code that can parse the signed CA and update the contributors file (which is just a csv in the new http://clojure.org site). there's a bit more glue to put in but I'm hoping to automate that part at least once the new site is up.
it would be nice to also invite the email to clojure-dev but I've never looked whether that's possible
