Getting the word out
We have thirteen folks signed up right now on Meetup which means we’ll see as many as ten the night of the event. Now through Wednesday of next week is a great time to post about it on social media and get the word out.
anyone on zulip?
That would help. There’s an events channel here too. I plan on adding a Zoom but since this is the first time we’ll be doing this in a while I didn’t want to promote that too much.
Local groups are a great place to post, not sure if anyone is active in Tech Friends or Denver Devs.
I could definitely use help with promotion. Between work, family, and getting my own presentation together I’m short on time.
@austin.meier How’s your presentation coming? I highly recommend reviewing it with someone before Wednesday, perhaps even doing a dry run. Unfortunately I’m running behind on mine. Between work and family I’ll be coming in hot for Wednesday.
i don’t have anything in my back pocket, but i can work on something over the weekend.
Let me take a look tonight. It would be all UI based. Talk time?
If someone wants they can present my presentation. It’s all done with notes
The presentation is actually going really good. I am wrapping it up and adding some finishing touches. Going to dry-run it tomorrow with Raf and that Clojure camp group tomorrow. I can share the presentation with anyone here if they want to review it and/or give opinions. Unfortunately, I did just get some news that might make things more complicated though... father is having some health issues back home and I may have to return to South Carolina for a couple weeks. I am waiting to hear back. Really sorry about that but I am willing to try and make whatever work if needed, I can pre-record, or present remotely if possible. Not quite sure what the best route is. Presentation and speaking notes are pretty much done though.
I’m sorry to hear about your father Austin. Family always comes first, we’ll figure things out. It’s just a meetup. Thanks for offering to do what you can but I suggest you focus on your family.
@winkywooster @sritchie09 @astro or James please let me know if one of you could sub in for Austin.
