Are conj talk videos published yet?
I think Jordan mentioned they were gonna be spaced out this time instead of published all at once for marketing reasons
you can still buy the streaming package if you want to binge
oh that's good to know. I missed a couple talks I wanna go back and see.
yeah me too, I missed a lot of talks during hallway tracking!
Ah, well, I can't wait to share some interesting tidbits with non-clojure crowd. Netflix talk stability note is a good example.
we do not yet have the raw video, it will take some time to edit and publish videos, so I would expect to first having some of it in December timeframe
I now bought streaming tickets, but no confirmation e-mail so no binging for me yet. π
maybe in spam?
Not even there. (Though I did find another Conj2025 email there.)
Now got the Confirmation e-mail. But still havenβt managed to see any video. I see the frames when I scrub, but the video is just the title screen,
Now I can watch the videos. Totally worth the wait and slight frustration because I just saw the A vs Bowser* talk by @smith.adriane. π€―
That was my favorite lightning talk :) Guess what, it runs on https://github.com/phronmophobic/easel written in Clojure...
And not once did he mention that fact! π€―
yes, it's #easel which is awesome
Adrian builds some crazy stuff that doesn't get enough attention.
have you guys seen the SCI-driven REPL from within an iPhone, where you get to build entire apps from within the phone? Built by Adrian with a little SCI help from my side that was a fun Apropos episode. https://gist.github.com/ericnormand/aefbaace9b3731b26dd4dff770565271
Adrian showed his podcast app which runs on his phone built in this way, at the conj
Yeah! I remember him sharing this in Slack. Membrane is very cool and he's built several different projects with it already: https://github.com/phronmophobic/membrane?tab=readme-ov-file#built-with-membrane
I guess easel could be added to that list
Yep, you're right.
Hey! I'll work later today on sending an email to all of you with your credentials to replay the videos. Just give me a little time - and hopefully you receive them π€
Email has been sent. β Ping me if you haven't received it.
thanks!
I received it. Now I can watch two streams in parallell. π
I can watch pretty much everyone's stream, but mine. Also I'm the only one who has a red thing on the logo. When I click around I do stumble upon a stream with all the videos hours long. There I do see my talk (and I walk around with a coffee cup in my hand all the time, why... facepalm )
I noticed the coffee cup when watching @borkdude π , I confess I was curious if you would drink it during the presentation and I think you didn't haha
LOL
I think it added coolness to the talk π
Yeah, that was a great coolness add!
> I do stumble upon a stream with all the videos hours long. I only ever found any talks from those hours long videos where I need to scrub to find the talk I am looking for. I thought that was how it was supposed to work. Are there talks with their own video files?
ok all good then
I can click on "view" on other talks and it goes to the talk, except for mine :)
Maybe because I didnβt deliver any talk, I donβt get that behaviour at all. π A carrot-whip!
I guess it has to do with me being the same person as having given the talk. An unnecessary coupling. The system probably wasn't written in Clojure with open-systems thinking
In the conference app you couldnβt find yourself when searching for conference attendees. π
how did you know you were even there then
I actually am not sure I was there. I am still pinching my arm.
Thank you @magdalena.useglio!
@borkdude About the coffee cup... I just assumed that you're fueled by coffee and if you set the cup down, you would have suddenly stopped moving.
@pez What you're watching is the recording of the live stream, so it's just one continuous thing. We'll be chopping it up for publishing to YouTube.
god, I wish this system was written in Clojure
pretty sure it's written in duct tape
