Hello. I noticed that the hotel, DoubleTree by Hilton Charlotte City Center, is sold out. I called this morning and they confirmed it. Is there an overflow hotel that’s been blessed?
Hey Luke - following up on this Unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure a special rate, but https://maps.app.goo.gl/mm8ED6fsu4cCP5LXA that are moderately priced, well reviewed and walkable to the conference venue.
Thanks very much! I ended up booking a package (flight + hotel) at a hotel right next to the conference center for a great price! I'm staying at the Element Charlotte Uptown.
Hi @james.luke.johnson! At the moment, the DoubleTree is the only hotel where we have secured special rates. Since it’s now sold out, we’ll look into partnering with another nearby hotel (though we can’t make any guarantees yet). If you don’t mind waiting a bit, we should be able to share an update in the coming weeks.
Thanks. I may end up booking a cheaper hotel a little further way, anyway, though.

For commuters or those booking a stay a little farther from the convention center, how will convention center parking look during conj?
FWIW, I'll be driving and plan to just leave my car at the hotel and walk to the convention center each day.
Charlotte is a tiny city and I can't imagine you will have problems finding parking
Last year, the walk from the main hotel to the event was about 45 minutes, mostly uphill (and "it were a grand ride down"). I doubt many hotels/AirB'n'Bs are going to be further than that from the convention center? But, true, local commuters are likely going to park at the convention center... According to Windows Copilot/Bing:
And for those staying at the DoubleTree -- parking information from Windows Copilot/Bing:
it is about a 15 min flat walk between hotel and convention center or you could hop on the light rail for a couple blocks along the way (not any faster probably, but less walking)
I don't know what the parking situation is at convention center, but we will try to add that to the https://www.2025.clojure-conj.org/venue-travel
Parking is first-come, first-served around the Convention Center. The NASCAR Hall of Fame Garage is the one we recommend, as it’s directly connected to the venue and offers affordable rates. I’m attaching parking maps to this message.
Hey! Would any women going to Clojure Conj want to split a hotel room in Charlotte for the week? I'm planning on getting something downtown either near the blue line or walking distance from the convention center
I'll DM you
Will Conj be using the same Discord as the past couple of years? I assume so since @magdalena.useglio has been posting there but I can't remember seeing an invite link in the comms about this year's event...
yes
Okay if I post an invite link here then? Or should I wait until Magda is ready?
yes, go ahead
