Looks like maybe I never posted this here, so posting here! https://2024.clojure-conj.org/

Could you elaborate a bit on the schedule? 23RD: UNSESSIONS, WORKSHOPS, RECEPTION 24TH: IN-PERSON DAY 25TH: COMMUNITY DAY For someone on the West Coast, flight times and hotel nights are a big consideration for planning purposes (esp. with a nearly $300 per night hotel rate -- eek!) Do you have a sense for the actual times of things on the 23rd and 25th? (and what exactly is "community day"?)
23rd - might have a workshop or two, tbd, but will probably be mostly unsessions in the afternoon. Something social in the evening. Basically Iām hoping that will be a viable arrival day for many people
25th - the idea here is to a) stream and b) bring in remote speakers and communities, but I expect it to be a normal day of talks ending before dinner and nothing planned after
Hotel costs in the area are expensive, got several quotes that were ~same
Thanks @alexmiller Realistically, West Coast folks can't get in before 4 pm at the earliest unless they take a red eye (or come in on the 22nd). It's typically been 6-7 pm when I've arrived. I doubt I'd want to take the workshops but would likely be interested in some of the unsessions, so knowing they're in the afternoon helps me lean toward a red eye I think. And then to get back "same day", the latest possible flight out looks to be around 6 pm (but 4 pm onward is a lot easier) so if it's going to be a "full day" on the 25th, folks either need to stay overnight or miss talks. So the math is probably three hotel nights (23/24/25), red eye late on the 22nd, noon-ish flight back.
