A couple of us are looking to get together for a beer and a snack on Monday night to talk about Clojure and tech and Austin or wherever the conversation goes. Monday 10/17 Koko’s Bavarian [https://www.kokosbavarian.com/] It’s East Austin, but close to 183 for access from the North or South. I’m going to try and get there around 6pm.
I'll be there
Weather looks good. See y’all there. Everyone’s invited, so feel free to drop by.
I’m here super early. Gonna grab a brat and a beverage and sit right out front and write some Clojure. And if you don’t know what I look like, look for the parens on my laptop!
I'm a few minutes out
Relevant link I saw on orange site: https://waxy.org/2022/09/ai-data-laundering-how-academic-and-nonprofit-researchers-shield-tech-companies-from-accountability/
100% agree. Great fun chatting, hearing how people got into Clojure, etc. I’m glad @U44S24V16 mentioned Go has gotten better because i might make it a point to start learning that. I’m going to d a serious dive into either Go or Rust.
Yeah had a lot of fun! Definitely Go over Rust imo
I paged through a Rust book and got the impression it would be an infuriating language to use
