A couple of us are looking to get together for a beer and a snack on Monday night to talk about Clojure and tech and Austin or wherever the conversation goes. Monday 10/17 Koko’s Bavarian [https://www.kokosbavarian.com/] It’s East Austin, but close to 183 for access from the North or South. I’m going to try and get there around 6pm.

I’m here super early. Gonna grab a brat and a beverage and sit right out front and write some Clojure. And if you don’t know what I look like, look for the parens on my laptop!

jakebasile22:10:54

I'm a few minutes out

mlimotte13:10:46

It was fun hanging out and chatting about Clojure. thanks for coming.

dpsutton13:10:29

100% agree. Great fun chatting, hearing how people got into Clojure, etc. I’m glad @U44S24V16 mentioned Go has gotten better because i might make it a point to start learning that. I’m going to d a serious dive into either Go or Rust.

jakebasile13:10:19

Yeah had a lot of fun! Definitely Go over Rust imo

dpsutton13:10:45

interesting. Rust seems so amazing to me. Especially their enums

jakebasile13:10:33

I paged through a Rust book and got the impression it would be an infuriating language to use

dpsutton13:10:07

it is opinionated for sure. The tooling around it is incredible though.
