Some little more progress on the Android freeze thing: If I have that expound require and also declare a rather big map, then this freeze happens. We have a i18n translations file which doubled in size a while ago, and I suspect that is when this started happening. The repro is a tad more complicated than this, so I will try to figure something a bit more minimal out and hopefully can post something up on Github soon.
