@dnolen I'm not sure I'm not breaking something, but removing the line 

(krell/build config)
from the repl initialization form indicated in https://github.com/vouch-opensource/krell/wiki/Tooling-Integration---Emacs%2C-Cursive%2C-VSCode-etc. appears to solve the issue ^^; Reload on save is still working at least when I modify existing files, and I get a working cljs repl.
