@thheller have you bumped Closure Compiler? Is shadow-cljs ok w/ the JDK 11 requirement - I was looking at the surveys and there is a non-trivial JDK 8 contingent

yes, I bumped the requirement to java11. so far a couple people ran into it but were able to upgrade
