circleci 2022-01-03
So the circleci/clojure images are deprecated; but the nextgen cimg/clojure image is still in beta, and hasn’t been updated for 2 years! 😞
The circleci/clojure images will stop receiving updates in February
Also it looks like the cimg/clojure images target leiningen only, not tools.deps 😞
Does anyone know if circle are planning to provide convenience images in the future? Or do we need to roll our own?
Aren't there official clojure images? As in by clojure, not circle
are there? 👀
@lennart.buit: I can’t see any mention on http://clojure.org
it says official, but I dont know what that means
Not a lot, it's just a global namespace. It's not enforced by cognitect iirc
yeah — maybe they’re provided by docker themselves
I’d be surprised if the clojure core team did this
looks like it’s on quite an old version of clojure cli 1.10.1.697
Oh no look like they do have the latest cli tools after all! https://github.com/Quantisan/docker-clojure/blob/6240ee350907066c213d19d922dfbdd590de7afe/target/openjdk-8-slim-buster/tools-deps/Dockerfile
Looks like official just means docker gave them their stamp of approval https://docs.docker.com/docker-hub/official_images/
