cider ๐Ÿ“ฃ Great news, everyone! This year's "State of CIDER" survey is out! (see https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfCcBfiDv0AT2Qpnpzszp8D0BNZg45eST2KfvmGPY4nEq8MIQ/viewform?usp=header) Please, take the time to share how you're using CIDER, so we can make it even better! I'd appreciate it if you shared the survey around, so we can get as much input as possible! cider

why can't I choose both? ๐Ÿ™‚

There's a separate question afterwards for the alternative runtimes. But yeah - I was on the fence about changing this to multiple-answers, but decided to keep it as it was last year.

yeah, I see, thanks!

@bozhidar Shouldn't we pin this one, btw?

Done.

Could the alternative runtime questions be marked optional? Or a "none of these" alternative added? I had to use the "other" option and add "N/A"

bozhidar 2024-12-17T14:42:58.591999Z

@stig328 Isn't the question optional? That's how I see it in the admin UI of the survey.

oyakushev 2024-12-17T15:42:20.011849Z

I filled the survey and I haven't checked any of the alternative runtime options, it worked. So it is optional indeed.

Stig Brautaset 2024-12-17T15:58:40.934639Z

@bozhidar I don't think so. I didn't fill it in, and was prompted to do so I thought ๐Ÿคท

The number if 'I've not heard of that' in the feature use section now makes me wish for a blog post series where canonical/interesting uses of these features were enumerated. The docs are good, but I'm not sure how to learn when using any given feature will help. Cool survey, I hope you get lots of useful data from it.

The required questions also have a red asterisk and this one doesnโ€™t have it.

Stig Brautaset 2024-12-17T16:00:33.554529Z

Apologies, I misremembered. I'm talking about these questions:

bozhidar 2024-12-17T16:01:01.291819Z

Ops, yeah - those should be optional. My bad!

Is anyone here hasnโ€™t decided to use cider, but is curious about how itโ€™s like working in cider? Iโ€™ve made a video trying to show how to get started with cider, maybe you would like to check out and decide to give it a try eventually;) https://youtu.be/evmRpr_DEBQ?si=2b8jcIisd8bvkvwL

You might also want to share this in #emacs and #dev-tooling

Thanks, I wasnโ€™t aware of these two channels, will do. And huge thanks to the effort to make this great emacs package! โค๏ธ
