So far I've noticed it happen when the definition is in the same file. Let me test for a var in a different source file in my project.

OK, seems to be just when the definition is in the same file -- and it seems to open a new file with the same name, but empty and unsaved.

Ok, I'll check this. The only thing I remember adding is that now, when there's sufficient information, "goto var" should open the editor on the right column. I'll see if this is the current issue. Also, are you working on which operational system?
