This isn’t bad (obviously), just different from how it used to be - feels like there’s a fair bit more glue in the template now, and it’s becoming more of its own thing rather than a collection of good tool choices.

For history, plexus was interested in being able to have more modularity with the tools chestnut was pulling (the straw that broke the camel's back was being able to have auto reload capabilities with garden), and reached for integration with component.
