How exactly does Calva determine whether the cider middleware is loaded? And does that test then prevent certain features from running, or is the assumption that Calva should just try those ops and let them fail?
Calva doesn’t use any nrepl ops that are not implemented by the server. This works as long as the server implements describe. When a server is connected, Calva checks for some specific cider-nrepl ops (`info` being among them) that provide features that are deemed a bit extra important. If they are lacking, Calva warns about it.
