Hey good morning

manas_marthi08:12:12

Any idea if there was any attempt to write a language server for clojure?

manas_marthi08:12:25

I was told that eclipse needs that to support new languages

pez09:12:15

It is more than an attempt, I would say. 😃

@pez oh, calva-fmt doesn't have a LICENSE file! Presumably MIT as with calva itself?

pez09:12:47

Isn't it enough with a license field in package.json?

pez09:12:13

(Calva Formatter specifies MIT there)

mseddon09:12:47

oh, it probably is, although I go looking for a LICENSE file and if I don't see one get suspicious 🙂

mseddon09:12:04

So long as it's a liberal license like MIT or BSD I then proceed to have at it 😉

pez09:12:25

We can add a file too. So that people find it easily and don't get suspicious. 😃

mseddon09:12:48

also github flags it on their community insights https://github.com/BetterThanTomorrow/calva-fmt/community

pez09:12:56

I'm fond of this license, not just because I wrote it 😄 http://robowiki.net/wiki/RWPCL

mseddon09:12:02

Ah.. see I am less keen- mostly because I do a lot of contract work, and copyleft licenses like that prohibit me from re-using my work for clients 🙂

mseddon09:12:11

but it is straight and to the point 🙂

mseddon09:12:53

huh. my TODO says today I actually work on the ontype formatter. We're here.

pez09:12:27

I wasn't suggesting that license. It's just that I am not myself a believer in intellectual property rights. But I know most people are believers and am totally fine with the MIT license.

pez09:12:38

TODO-driven programming? 😃

mseddon10:12:05

hehe, I am retro 😉

mseddon10:12:47

As far as licenses go, it's mostly my client's disdain rather than mine. People tend to be very particular

mseddon10:12:46

definitely want to see how they've done that later 😉

mseddon10:12:30

ah. they explain it. it's cute but... not sufficient on it's own. pity.

mikeb16:12:31

Power mode looks hilarious.

mikeb16:12:31

Hey everyone, please head on over to github and give a thumbs up to https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode/issues/3220 they use thumbs up as gauge of interest and ranking for features to be implemented. The inline results with calva can be much better if they add this.

mseddon17:12:12

@mikeb 👍'd here already, let's hope they finally pick it up.

pez18:12:08

Interesting that this age-old ticket gets posted here twice in a day.

mikeb03:12:59

I only reposted the link for context because I had been looking into it so long ago, and thought a call out for votes might help.

pez09:12:33

I saw it as a sign that we need to try take Calva’s evaluation further. 😃

mikeb12:12:40

I'm all for that!

mseddon18:12:15

If only they'd do something about it 😉

mattly18:12:34

we keep chasing our text editor xanadu

mattly18:12:17

games, man, they have level/world editors that are fully integrated environments where you can mod something while you play with it, and it renders 60fps on a phone

mattly18:12:02

meanwhile we think it's normal that VSCode spends 30% of your CPU blinking a cursor or emacs chokes because a line of text is too long
