<130 ... training in the 120-130 range

practicalli-johnny12:08:00

Oh dear, my heart rate is usually 140+ just cycling down the road :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing::rolling_on_the_floor_laughing::rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

You go pretty fast though

practicalli-johnny12:08:25

I suppose I do on my road bike. I haven't measured my heart rates on the Brompton my other commute bike

I have also lost over 15kg in weight since May, so that should help me go faster, although I haven't been doing that much cycling or exercise. Just sticking to a healthy vegan diet got most of that weight off 😁

the idea is, that to train for my favoured activities - which are endurance - i should train the energy delivery system which best fuels those activities, namely the aerobic system, and that if i train at a higher heart rate then i'm mostly training anaerobic, so...

mccraigmccraig13:08:58

a couple of different calculations of my aerobic zone roughly overlap and give me a <130 aerobic zone

mccraigmccraig13:08:10

looking at my strava history, since i started recording HR a few months ago, i would, by default, average out at 150bpm and peak at 185bpm, so i was probably doing rather a lot of anaerobic training

so now i'm going very slowly and watching to see if indeed my aerobic base does develop, and how long it takes before i stop being passed by old ladies with zimmer frames
