I decided I'd prefer to deploy platypub instead of running it locally every time I want to write something, so I've pushed a commit that ties up some loose ends. The main thing is there's a new :com.platypub/allowed-users config key which lets you specify a set of email addresses that should be allowed to sign in. By default anyone is allowed to sign in.
