Just finished writing the announcement post, which I'll officially publish tomorrow: https://biffweb.com/p/announcing-platypub/

that sure took longer to write than I was expecting

Steven Deobald14:06:21

It always does. 🙂 The draft looks good!

Jacob O'Bryant18:06:23

(removing good first issue from all the https://github.com/jacobobryant/platypub/issues because I got tired of adding it every single time)

Jacob O'Bryant21:06:29

@tbrooke @taylor.jeremydavid both of you mentioned you were interested in some pair programming some time, right? I'm now ready to start scheduling stuff, starting next week or after. I've been kicking around the idea of structuring it as some kind of low-key, semi-regular biff meetup. e.g. once or twice a month at a hopefully fixed time, do a zoom (or twitch, or something?) session that starts out by tackling one of the platypub issues while pair programming. Then if additional people show up and have anything to chat about, then we can chat. And if only two people attend it's fine because we can just do the pair programming session and close. Either way I'll upload the recording for anyone who wants to watch it later. If that sounds interesting then maybe we can pick a default time that works ok for most people? Like 9:30 am pacific on a thursday? (I normally do biff stuff on fridays but I figure @taylor.jeremydavid might occasionally have more fun things to do than pair programming on a friday evening 🙂 )

Sounds good I really like the "new" Biff but haven't had a chance to work with it - travel and COVID - I'll shoot you an email with some things I'd like to do with Biff - You an let me know the easiest - I can start and get my feet wet then I'd love to pair -

Jacob O'Bryant00:06:58

sounds good

refset11:06:51

Hey @U7YNGKDHA sorry for the late response! > Like 9:30 am on a thursday? Sounds good to me! I'm well up for it 🙂

Jacob O'Bryant16:06:31

@taylor.jeremydavid Great! Also I realized I forgot to say "pacific time", maybe you inferred that, but correct me if not. (I've switched my sleep schedule back to that of a more normal person's, and I no longer work until 4:00 am ha ha). Would June 30th or July 7th work? no need to prepare, other than maybe take a look at https://github.com/jacobobryant/platypub/issues and see if there are any in particular you'd like to start with. otherwise we can just pick one when we start. most of them are pretty easy.

refset13:06:16

I can do a 90m session starting at 17:30 (local time, BST), no problem 👌 let's try the 7th. Wanna create the calendar invite?

Jacob O'Bryant17:06:57

Great, I'll make the invite soon

I've created a calendar event: https://calendar.google.com/event?action=TEMPLATE&tmeid=ODdjN21rMzZxMXZhM2pjOWc4NWFsbWtyc3MgamFjb2JvYnJ5YW50N0Bt&tmsrc=jacobobryant7%40gmail.com Question: does this link work for any of you if you click on it? I got it from hitting "Publish event" on google calendar, but when I try to click it while signed in from a second google account, it just says it couldn't find the requested event. How does one make a public calendar event?? (details from the event:) > This is the first of hopefully multiple Biff Pair Programming Sessions®, in which we work on some issues from a Biff project and then chat or whatever. It'll be pretty relaxed; a great way to make sure you're getting enough screen time, and learn each other some Clojure web dev while we're at it. > > This time, Jeremy Taylor will be driving! (Please clap.) We'll work on some Platypub issues (https://github.com/jacobobryant/platypub). July 7th @ 16:30 UTC. > > > Join Zoom Meeting > https://us05web.zoom.us/j/83801925742?pwd=RkR4UThWUWZRelhTOW1iVXdTcUVFZz09 > > Meeting ID: 838 0192 5742 > Passcode: i20jsZ

no joy here either, but try https://calndr.link/

Jacob O'Bryant23:06:45

Excellent, posting the link in a new thread...

Steven Deobald21:06:04

> or twitch, or something? Endorsed. 🙂

Jacob O'Bryant21:06:06

is twitch good for groups? I've never actually used it

Steven Deobald21:06:44

For a while, @U050CTFRT was streaming all his pairing (or solo) sessions on http://github.com/juxt/site ... I think it worked reasonably well. He'd republish to YT after.

I've never twitched myself either, though.

refset11:06:47

> is twitch good for groups? At the time Malcolm used OBS to grab webcam feeds from Discord and overlay them on the screenshare. It seemed a bit fiddly though, so I can well imagine there are better solutions out there (not necessarily OSS / Linux-friendly though!)

Jacob O'Bryant16:06:32

hm, I'll try out a few things. I'm kinda thinking maybe we'll just end up doing zoom 🤷
