@gjnoonan: really? I would have thought Hiccup was a hard sell to designers? Maybe we can have a more in depth (off-line) discussion about how you did that and the minutia of what thye took from it.
@agile_geek: That would be a good discussion to have. I was passionate about “everything is data” maybe that helped
Hi, would anybody recommend the book "clojure for the brave and true",for learning ??? java programmer here 😄 (ESL,sorry in advance)
@kiquetal: I would.
some other great links:
http://funcool.github.io/cats/latest/ https://aphyr.com/tags/Clojure-from-the-ground-up http://www.braveclojure.com
(the last one is the free website behind the book)
also, Brian Marick’s FPOO book is worth a read coming from OO.
Thanks @colin.yates ,i want to buy another book, before read "the joy of clojure" and hope this book use the new version of clojure
to be honest, there are so many good resources it is hard to go wrong.
Ordered Brave and true in May, after many changes in delivery date it is now saying "Arriving 29 Oct - 18 Nov” sigh
has anyone gone through this book? https://pragprog.com/book/vmclojeco/clojure-applied
I guess @alexmiller co-wrote it 😛
@ianjones: I went through it quite quickly. It is good, but I don’t think it is a beginner book.
It isn’t overly advanced, but it is more ‘how do I use Clojure to solve real problems’ rather than ‘how do I learn Clojure'
I approve of that description :)
@alexmiller: (phew)
