> â€Ē Support for macOS x64 has been removed. Version 25.0.1 was the last release that supported this hardware architecture. GraalVM now only supports macOS on AArch64 (Apple Silicon). Seems I have to drop support for mac intel sooner than later

When did you drop support for PowerPC?

borkdude 2026-03-03T19:39:45.517059Z

I (read: GraalVM) never supported PowerPC

I assume the older babashka binaries will still be available, correct?

borkdude 2026-03-03T19:42:22.572729Z

(I do have a few intel Macs still kicking around)

grzm 2026-03-03T19:43:14.739739Z

(Well, I do have some old PPC Macs laying around, too, for that matter)

I think I could also still support mac intel by building with an older version. But I just ran into one bug which was fixed in 25.0.2 but this was the version they stopped mac intel support. Why remove something in a critical patch of an LTS. Bad move.

grzm 2026-03-03T19:44:33.783509Z

Yeah, that's kind of interesting.

I ran into this with a bb pod, so I'm going to deprecate mac intel there first. smaller surface area than bb itself, let's see if people yell

Makes sense. And nothing precludes going back and making builds as best you can to fill the gaps if you want to.

borkdude 2026-03-03T19:47:10.580489Z

yeah
