loading from gists in sci.web playground: https://borkdude.github.io/sci.web/?gist=borkdude%2F33d757d5080eb61051c5db9c597d0b38
sci has a logo: https://borkdude.github.io/sci.web/
cool! saw your discussion with him on the jet logo -- some interesting ideas there too.
I think I upped my nascent design skills maybe half a notch, thanks for a fun experience @borkdude!
@lee the logo now rotates when loading an example: https://borkdude.github.io/sci.web/?gist=borkdude%2F33d757d5080eb61051c5db9c597d0b38
interesting! on my computer, it happens so fast that I only sometimes see a tiny part of a spin.
can you do that using CSS you think? or do I have to set the CSS class a certain length of time?
this might work: https://stackoverflow.com/a/13061553/6264
should now work! https://borkdude.github.io/sci.web/
can you try one more time? I updated the CSS, so I want to make sure it still works. now the logo animates counter clockwise when you hit the back button
i'll see what i can do about a screenshot. the counter clockwise version -- is it released? i'm not observing it at the "official" location.
yeah, I optimized https://re-find.it for all kinds of devices, this takes extra work
one bit of feedback from my wife: when the sci logo spins, she started to also see DS, which kind of steals from sci. in other words, sheβs not a fan of the spin. i do see her point. just an opinion, take it or leave it π
I'm going to guess that it is a nono to futz with a logo, but its not like this is a big serious web site here, so if you find it fun, then why not?
an alternative, if you really love the spin, would be to only spin the rim of the logo and not the letters.
ha ha ha -- mdn has a gif to show the effect, presumably because it's not so widely supported anymore? https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/blink#Example
