i wonder when amazon will provide health checks as a service

i can imagine guys in white lab coats with amazon badges coming to my home to remove me from my ASG when i die

or maybe drones at that point

failing health checks but still alive because of a dynamo issue, drone don't care

so when i create an ASG i can specify ELB healthchecks as an option

does this require that i also have the ASG linked to an ELB, or is it separate?
