My preferred setup is vim + tmate, with “whatever works” for audio. I often do HipChat’s audio for work. Google Chat could work.

What OS are you running?

I just realized tmate won’t work on Windows.

I’m assuming you are familiar with vim, but if that’s not the case, we can adapt.
