Hi, what is Helidon and/or Nima? Thanks! 😊

mpenet19:11:05

Helidon is a framework to write « microservices » https://helidon.io/nima helidon currently uses netty+reactive-streams internally, nima is a rewrite using loom, initially for their webserver. Tldr: an efficient / lightweight web server (in the case of nima)

have you done any benchmarks?

mpenet08:11:57

No benchmark yet, it’s still very early (it’s a couple hours worth of work so far and the underlying lib is alpha2). I do tend to write the adapter with performance in mind tho. But that will come eventually.

They claim comparable/slightly-better perf as their netty/reactive based server in a presentation they did on alpha1, but I would take with a grain of salt.

They do work with the loom team on the implementation, I guess that helps
