Since we've had a lot of new signups over the last day or two, this is a friendly reminder that unsolicited direct messages of a commercial nature are strictly prohibited here -- offenders will have their accounts deactivated as soon as the Admin team is made aware of such violations. If you get an unwanted DM, you can report it in #spam-reports or contact one of the online Admins. In the wake of thousands of invites being sent out by a small number of scammers (and hundreds of unusual signups), we have tightened a lot of the permissions here, including disallowing creation of private channels and also requiring all invitations to be approved by the admin team. Apologies if this causes legitimate members any inconvenience. If you need intervention by a member of the admin team, feel free to ask in #spam-reports Please also be very careful about any unexpected DMs you receive, as we expect an increase in spammer/scammer activity.
