any plans to move away from Slack? I’m losing old messages because of the free plan and I’m assuming that no one wants to pay up for ~5000 users

jannis11:01:15

Might as well post it here: In case you didn't know, Slack supports typing /s/foo/bar to edit your last message.

sveri12:01:32

@victorbjelkholm: there are two channels for this and a lot of discussion was done: #C0CB40N8K and #C0J20813K

sveri12:01:41

Unfortunately most of it is lost, due to history^^

mikethompson12:01:45

@victorbjelkholm: @sveri not perfect, but history is logged: http://clojurians-log.mantike.pro/

victorbjelkholm12:01:03

@mikethompson: I assumed, trouble is that it’s private messages, so I’m guessing they are in the void

victorbjelkholm12:01:09

good to know about the public log though

mikethompson12:01:39

Yes, private messages are gone without a trace

martinklepsch14:01:49

@victorbjelkholm: there's a #C0CB40N8K channel considering alternatives etc

conormcd15:01:04

FWIW, Slack has given away a better service tier for free to at least one other slack that I'm a member of. They may be willing to give us more history for free if we ask nicely.

victorbjelkholm15:01:49

@conormcd: we have a public chat at Typeform and tried to get a better free tier but no luck 😕

conormcd15:01:06

Yeah, I'm not sure how the other account was upgraded. There's ~900 in it, so it's not tiny but it's not as big as this one.

Hi everyone (and sorry for OT during slack service discussion), was recently talking to some russian clojurian community and they pointed me here -so in case anyone would be considering a new move in 2016 and Berlin sounds like a good option to you, there's a role (https://goo.gl/5jwjf3) in http://tech.zalando.com. Clojure will fit just nicely. If you wanna talk, just hit me here on Slack simple_smile

agile_geek16:01:58

@ondrejprochazka: might be worth reposting this in #C05006WDW

ondrejprochazka16:01:47

@agile_geek: thanks man, did not notice that one while searching for a proper place!

agile_geek16:01:07

@ondrejprochazka: np

jaredly16:01:10

@victorbjelkholm: see the #C0CB40N8K channel — there’s a hackpad in the channel description that has lots of thoughts about moving away from slack

joshua.d.horwitz16:01:30

How’s everyone doing?

meow18:01:54

wow, lots of new folks here - welcome all

joshua.d.horwitz18:01:46

Thank you! I really want to get more involved in Clojure

seancorfield19:01:41

(remember folks, this is an unpartable channel, so it’s best to find a specific channel for actual discussions)

seancorfield19:01:23

That said, welcome @joshua.d.horwitz and check out #C03S1KBA2 and #C053AK3F9 if appropriate.
